There is a big difference between losing weight and losing fat.
When you lose body weight, by going on some sort of diet, your body will lose not only body fat but it will lose muscle as well, which is not a good thing as having more lean muscle on your body is very beneficial, especially as we get older, because we lose lean muscle from our body naturally.
Also when just focusing on losing weight, rather than losing body fat, most people restrict foods out of their daily nutrition, which then makes them feel deprived and very unhappy.
The key to long-term success is to focus on losing body fat, while at the same time building lean muscle.
Looking at the picture above, both the bodies weigh exactly the same on the scales, BUT because the one on the left has more lean muscle and less body fat then her body shape is different. So if these two ladies went to a slimming club, then they would both be the exact same weight, but not the same dress size!
The one on the right could be a size 14-16, whereas the one on the left could be a size 10-12, which is a huge difference, ask any female.
And which one do you think would have the most confidence with their body shape?
It's time to stop worrying about the number on the scales.
